Alaska is home to unrivaled fly fishing, providing chances to catch large rainbows and arctic char, as well as silver, sockeye, and king salmon—the baddest fish in fresh water. Combine this with a heightened awareness of surroundings as guests will be closer to bears and wildlife than they ever thought possible. (Pro tip: You will smell the bears before you see them in the elephant grass.) Have your camera ready as you watch brown bears fish for salmon in the same water you are fishing. This is an awe-inspiring trip that provides countless memories and even better stories, and a trip you will want to do over and over again.

Seven days is recommended, but it can be done in five. However, you don’t get to Alaska every day, so go ahead and get in the extra couple of days and do it right. You will be glad you did.
