ALASKA

Imagine a place that seems like there are no other fishing lodges or people.  Anywhere. The vastness and remoteness of Alaska give adventurers the feeling they are entering an untouched landscape where clear, pristine waters lie around every bend in the river. This is truly the last frontier, and certainly gives the fly fisherman that feeling.

Here, guests have the opportunity to watch the sun “bounce” as they cast a variety of leach and salmon patterns in the Land of the Midnight Sun. Alaska is home to unrivaled fly fishing, providing chances to catch large rainbows and arctic char, as well as silver, sockeye, and king salmon—the baddest fish in fresh water. Combine this with a heightened awareness of surroundings as guests will be closer to bears and wildlife than they ever thought possible. (Pro tip: You will smell the bears before you see them in the elephant grass.) Have your camera ready as you watch brown bears fish for salmon in the same water you are fishing. This is an awe-inspiring trip that provides countless memories and even better stories, and a trip you will want to do over and over again.

Seven days is recommended, but it can be done in five. However, you don’t get to Alaska every day, so go ahead and get in the extra couple of days and do it right. You will be glad you did.
